Whew ~

Boaz called from school.  He made his 9th grade basketball team.  Whew.

Pop me some popcorn.  We're gonna have a fun season ~

Advent - Week One, Day Two (meaning yesterday)

Wherein we read Genesis 3:1-24 and Noah was struck by the phrase, "...for you are dust and to dust you shall return."  (Mom!  That's what Eli says in the Book of Eli!"  Me: lovely).  Boaz pointed out how alive and well the blame game was - "It was her fault" and then, "The serpent deceived me."  This should be weirdly heartening for every parent that wants to pull his/her hair out over children that won't step up to the plate and accept their own behavior....  And at one point Lily blurted out, "I get it!"  Get what?  "Why people sometimes say 'the fall of man.'  Now I get it"

I suppose that's what Advent is all about: getting it.

No more turkey

After roasted turkey, turkey jalapeno soup, more turkey sandwiches than I care to count, and a combination turkey spaghettina / divan that I made up last night - I'm pretty sure if I tried to contrive one more turkey dish with Thanksgiving leftovers, I'll have a revolt on my hands.  Tonight - it's homemade hamburgers.
